A lovely moment in my NIKES! Yes. That’s me. I know. Do not worry. I am simultaneously brainstorming of the tempting sexy heels to enjoy during this soon to be over summer and the exciting pumps and boots that make me excited about fall. Forgive me for the blurry photo. I felt that the subliminal meaning and significance took precedence. I truly do feel amazing and uplifted when in a pair of sexy heels whether alone or knowing that dark and handsome man in mind will turn his head as I walk away. Although, I must dedicate this post to my love for running and how much it means to me and share that feeling with others that are either runners themselves or can relate this thought to what makes them feel empowered, alive and stronger.
It may have become apparent if anyone has read my analogous narratives about heels that delve into much more than the immediate appeal of a shoe but rather the character it exudes whether it be simply added confidence on any given day or the feelings of Lust, romance, love, seduction, flirtation, adventure and energy a sexy heel can evoke. Well, although i may wear my NIKE running shoes for a few hours a day, that time is priceless. I tend to be quite the emotional one. Yes, there are joyful emotions and passion can be a treasured trait I still hope to believe in whether referring to work or love. Although, in stressful times, or times of doubt and uncertainty, those emotions can be a test of strength.
Someone very special to me who I truly am glad to have in my life, reminded me that I need to be strong and despite current roadblocks, to not doubt myself as much. Well I want to stay strong not only for this special person but for myself and others as well. Many of us have different things that keep help us cope or stay grounded. For me, this is running! Even when in Miami, aside from dancing the night away in my heels and dreaming of soon coming to such a gorgeous beach with the man that holds my hear, half my excitement was to see the city on feet. I sure did. I am still a bit crazy at times but that will not change. That can be a happy me. I love wine and chocolate and all those luscious delights BUT those are indulgences. Running can be both an adrenaline and a sense of calm all at once. I feel the same about yoga regarding a calm state of mind but I’ll save those barefoot journeys for another post to come soon.
Well….. today was a superb warm but mild day with overcast skies and a light breeze. Heaven for a workout outside. I ended up running between 15-16 miles. I know people do run 26.2 all the time but I don’t think I had ever run more than 12 at once and this was not planned. Instead of turning around where I often do, I kept running and then had to run back. Well at a certain point, I decided I was feeling pretty good and just said that even if my legs were getting tired, I could do it. This goes to exemplify that a lot of things are mental and we can convince ourselves too. Yes, I stopped for a breather a few times because that hill heading toward Alpine, NJ was brutal!!! Maybe it was all of these emotions, uncertainties, doubts, guilt and all that can plague us. Alright maybe it was the peanut butter! Ladies. Peanut butter equals energy. Trust me.
Above are my running shoes that I first got in green in the fall. I love everything Nike from the shorts I have in green, purple, yellow, pink……. BUT for a while I thought I could not wear NIKE running shoes because of my wide feet! I was glad to find the Nike Pegasus 27 Bowerman series. They are so comfy for my feet and do not wear down so fast either. Even better, with these shoes, I must finally get that NIKE + gadget I have been longing for. A more precise mileage on days like this would be precious.
