Sometimes you really love a dress!

Sometimes you really love a dress!

That was my impulse instagram comment when posting the very informal photo below wearing the DVF lace ‘zarita’ dress in dark navy blue. With all honestly, I am glad I bought this dress a while ago and it exemplifies the notion of quality over quantity. The best things about this DVF dress is that not only does it fit me well, and works well for any evening occasion but its comfortable!

I have shared photos wearing the same dress at least twice before here on Fabulous Soles in the past 2/3 years as well as others on Instagram. One thing I would like to point out is that wearing the same dress does not mean the same overall look as a different color shoe can change the tone and formality. Technically, since it was raining on Thursday, in the photo below, I could have been a bit more casual and edgy by wearing ankle boots but I had been looking forward to wearing the suede Charles Jourdan open toe pumps and they felt most suitable for the event I was invited to. Confession.  I wore my rain boots beforehand and found a very safe place to store them! Dance in the rain I will BUT with my heels in the bag!

Veering more toward darker hues especially if wearing suede but nude pumps or even white and red are a nice contrast. Previously, I have worn the DVF dress with toffee suede Claudia Ciutti pumps, nude Brian Atwood patent leather and red suede platform sandals.  The dress in any color is so versatile, fun and simply comfortable BUT navy blue is similar to black in the sense that it can be accessorized for a more or less formal appeal. A simple open blazer is great as an alternative to a jacket for example.  While I absolutely adore red accessories, it is fair to say that it may not be as nonchalant to wear the same dress in red and it not be blend in.

These are a few favorite moments wearing the dress including a fun moment sitting on a bath tub! I can’t be the only one who admires open standing tubs, especially resembling  those with room for two. Real estate and shoes go very well together!

The best part is that even though, I got this dress almost 3 years ago, it is so classic that you can still find it in a few colors, including navy blue and black.

The suede pumps I have are old school Charles Jourdan that I found a while ago but I found these along with some nude styles as well:
